Since August 2004, SDM's has been providing a support group for moms in and around the South Dayton area including Centerville, Kettering, Miamisburg, Springboro, Beavercreek, Franklin, Fairborn and Miami Twp. Our children currently range from a few months of age to 5 years of age. In addition to sharing stories, thoughts, and ideas via message boards and online chats, we actively participate in playgroups and field trips.
We currently hold weekly playgroups, throughout the year, in each other's homes. This provides good opportunity to socialize our children and strengthen adult friendships on a regular basis. During winter months, we schedule frequent field trips to museums, such as Boonshoft Museum or Cincinnati Children's Museum, We meet up at indoor play areas and other local venues. In the warmer months, we frequent area parks and playgrounds, petting zoos, festivals, and other local events. We organize family get-togethers, such as picnics and holiday events. In addition, our organized message boards allow easy planning of all our activities. The boards are a further means of strenghtening our friendships by providing a place to ask questions, share ideas, recipes, suggestions, and recommendations, to name a few. We offer frequent "Mom's Night Out" so we have the chance to talk without our children. Some of our other other benefits include "Parents' Night Out", "Babysitter Exchange," "Monthly Bunco Night," and a book club.
